2007

Patent RU 69407 U1

Device for the Treatment of Viral Diseases

Устройство для лечения вирусных заболеваний

Authors: P. P. Fedchenko, P. A. Kotov, A. A. Startsev

Utility Model Patent RU 69407 U1, published 27 December 2007, Bull. No. 36. Application No. 2007110964/22 filed 27 March 2007. IPC A61N 5/06.

The utility model relates to medical engineering, biophysics and physiotherapy. The apparatus is designed for therapeutic treatment of biological objects and selective suppression of viral pathogens using spatially oriented narrow-band optical and electromagnetic radiation. Developed in collaboration with P. P. Fedchenko, a leading specialist in biophotonics, plant optics and spectral biophysical research, and long-time co-author of Academician Kirill Ya. Kondratyev.

2013

France / EU Patent

Method and Apparatus for Hydrodynamic Cavitation Water Treatment and Disinfection (Hydrowave Method)

Способ и установка кавитационной очистки и обеззараживания водных сред (Гидроволновой метод)

Authors: Co-authored with the cavitation technology developers; scientific and implementation leadership: Dr. Alexander A. Startsev

Foreign Patent (France / EU), granted in connection with the European implementation of hydrodynamic cavitation water purification systems.

Protects the hydrodynamic cavitation method for breaking down toxic compounds and the engineering design of the reactor (Mustang / Hydrowave units). The method achieves deep degradation of persistent organic pollutants (POPs), pesticides, and emulsified petrochemicals in industrial and agricultural wastewater without requiring secondary chemical reagents. Deployed within UNIDO environmental projects and presented during international expert missions (including the UNIDO industrial wastewater mission to Sri Lanka in 2013).

Dr. Alexander A. Startsev’s official biography records two patents granted in co-authorship (including one abroad). The portfolio below includes both co-authored patents and the foundational clean production patents of strategic partner SUE “Vodokanal of St. Petersburg”, developed and implemented under the UNIDO Cleaner Production Programme.

UNIDO Cleaner Production Patent Portfolio

Between 2000 and 2020, under the direction of Dr. Alexander A. Startsev, the UNIDO North-Western International Cleaner Production Centre provided systematic methodological support for major environmental programmes in Saint Petersburg and the Baltic Sea region. SUE “Vodokanal of St. Petersburg” served as the Centre’s key industrial partner. Joint initiatives focused on cleaner production principles, elimination of untreated wastewater discharges, thermal sewage sludge processing, and establishing the world’s first continuous bioelectronic water intake monitoring system.
