Scientific Collaboration and Research
Collaboration with leading academic and sectoral research institutions (Russian Academy of Sciences, SPbPU, PNPI, TINRO) where the fundamental laws of the biosphere meet applied ecology.
Research profile
Dr Startsev's more than 35 years of professional work have centred on industrial ecology, chemical safety, resource efficiency and cleaner production, digital environmental monitoring, the influence of civilization on climate change and the preservation of natural ecosystems (“Forest, Water and Life”). His research rests on joint studies and publications with scientists of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, the Petersburg Nuclear Physics Institute and sectoral institutes.
Four lines of work
- Five years of work with Academician K. Ya. Kondratyev: ecodynamics, global changes of the biosphere, modelling of climate processes (more).
- Biotic regulation and the hydrological cycle: joint works with the theoretical physicists V. G. Gorshkov and A. M. Makarieva (more).
- GIMS technology and satellite trace analysis: papers with V. F. Krapivin (2009–2010) and a 2014 article in the “Izvestiya TINRO” on the safety of ice-associated marine mammals (more).
- The International Research and Education Centre at Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, 2014–2024 (more).
Academic degrees and titles are given in the biography; articles are listed under Articles in Peer-Reviewed Journals.
